Join Apple, and help us lead the future generation of innovation.DescriptionJoin our Database Systems Engineering team within the Fleet Operation Engineering Group - the people responsible for keeping the systems and storage infrastructure that power Apple's services running at extraordinary scale.This role sits at the heart of large-scale storage operations. You'll own the configuration, provisioning, and health of SAN environments - designing automation tools that reduce toil, maintaining Linux infrastructure at massive scale, and partnering closely with developers, DBAs, network engineers, and EPMs to build the environments that make Apple's products possible.If you are energized by solving complex storage and systems challenges, thrive in collaborative cross-functional settings, and take pride in building reliable, automated infrastructure - you'll find a meaningful home on our team.Responsibilities:Configure and provision FCP and Infiniband multi-path storage devices across large-scale SAN environmentsDeploy and maintain Linux servers and external flash storage appliances at high volumeDevelop and maintain automation and monitoring tools to improve reliability and reduce manual operationsAdminister and troubleshoot complex SAN storage subsystems, including environments running Oracle and Oracle RACPerform performance reviews and root-cause analysis on storage and infrastructure issuesManage configuration using tools such as Puppet and VerdadCollaborate regularly with developers, DBAs, network engineers, and EPMs to build new environments and support new product initiativesPreferred QualificationsExperience with configuration management tools such as PuppetAbility to thrive in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment with a sense of shared ownershipHands-on knowledge of UNIX and Linux systems administrationA Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related fieldMinimum QualificationsExperience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, or Java, or other object-oriented programming languagesKnowledge of networking fundamentals as they relate to storage and systems infrastructureFamiliarity with Oracle software stack and/or NoSQL databasesExperience with version control systems such as Git
